LAMPWORK GLASS BEAD MAKING IN THE FOREST
Albert Einstein said, “Creativity is intelligence having fun.”
In this half day workshop I invite you to tap into your artistic nature and join me in creating unique Lampwork glass beads. Lampworking is a process in which a torch is used to melt rods of glass into a bead.
We will meet at my charming and cozy home studio. After going over the glossary of terms, our safety procedures, and a tour of my studio, we will begin creating our first basic, handcrafted beads using techniques that I am constantly refining. I’ll teach you techniques on how to decorate and shape the beads you make.
About half way through our workshop we will take a half-hour break to stretch our legs and have a quick snack. You are welcome at this time to enjoy the fresh air and explore the lush wooded hiking trails on the property. After our refreshing break, we will finish our beads.
Come to this workshop with a sense of curiosity and leave knowing that you have personally created a few one of a kind works of art.

For the last six years I have been the owner, artist, and designer at One Big Tree Designs. I've have had my work accepted into many juried art shows over the years and my beads have been published in three trade magazines.
I’ve often been told that my work has inspired others to create beautiful things and to think outside the box to recycle everyday items into wonderful works of art.
My expertise is in Lampworking. I have studied this unique art form with some of the best instructors in the country and I am continually honing my skills. In keeping with my desire to be sustainable and to re-use items that ordinarily would be cast out, I love creating beads using bottles or glassware that I break with a hammer and melt on my torch.
You will enjoy using the beads that we create together in jewelry or incorporate into gifts.
